Looking into the past, anyone would tell you that I was always more interested in fine art over portraiture. I am not saying that portraiture isn’t art, or not considered “fine art.” The teachers that have taught me everything I know are recognized as artists and rightfully so. After all, it is an effective portrait ARTIST that delivers emotion and esthetically pleasing images that captivate your attention.
When I first dove into abstract art with my camera, I created a group of images focused on color, lines, balance, texture .. anything I could use to pull in attention. A couple years back I found myself in just the mood to dive into the work again, never touching it until now. It has been so refreshing to complete bodies of work outside portraiture. This art is made simply to stimulate your senses.
